An exquisite small-sized project that demonstrates more is not always better. Nostalgic design elements are employed in a contemporary manner with great restraint. The vaulted interior spaces have a wonderful sense of natural light and a strong connection to exterior yards.
COTE Award presented by Southern California Edison:
This house was built with significant attention to Passive House principles, featuring a highly-insulated building envelope with energy-recovery ventilation to provide fresh air to occupants without significant energy losses. The heating needs of the home are largely met through a solar-thermal system.
